Our Denver office, formed in 1994, has emerged as one of the largest legal practices in the Rocky Mountain region, featuring a broad array of legal talent. Hogan & Hartson now ranks among the preeminent firms in Colorado for sophisticated business transactions, complex commercial and white-collar litigation, and large public projects that require extensive experience at the intersection of law and public policy. Our clients range from many of the region’s Fortune 500 companies to venture-backed start-ups and emerging technology companies.
Chambers USA, an annual guide ranking lawyers and law firms based on in-depth interviews with attorneys, clients, and corporate counsel, ranked our corporate/M&A, environmental, intellectual property, labor and employment, and litigation practices among the top in Colorado.
With strong ties to Colorado, we work at the forefront of events shaping the Rocky Mountain region, including the development of INVESCO Field at Mile High, Coors Field, the Pepsi Center, Union Station, and the nation's newest ski area; the financing of Denver International Airport and expansion projects at the University of Colorado; as well as the creation of a major life sciences complex at the former Fitzsimons Air Force Base site. Our backgrounds and areas of experience reflect the dynamic and challenging business environment of the Rocky Mountain Region and the Western United States.
Members of our Denver office include lawyers who have served as U.S. Representative from the 3rd Congressional District of Colorado and on the House Ways & Means Committee; Director of Policy for a former Colorado governor; Denver City Attorney and mayoral Chief of Staff; Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of the Interior; Director of the Central Region for the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission; President of the National Association of Bond Lawyers; a member of the Colorado Supreme Court Nominating Committee; Chief of Staff to a U.S. House of Representatives member; and as Special Assistant to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Deputy Administrator.
More than 35 years ago, Hogan & Hartson became the first major firm in the United States to establish a separate practice group devoted exclusively to providing pro bono legal services. Our attorneys in the Denver office have demonstrated a significant and consistent commitment to the community in which we live and work, providing pro bono representation on projects such as the Civic Center Conservancy, the Clyfford Still Museum, the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Children’s Museum of Denver. In addition to pro bono legal work, both attorneys and staff volunteer their own time to local organizations by serving on boards and committees.
