Proactive anticipation and resolution of compliance matters is the goal of Hogan & Hartson's environmental practice group. Our lawyers provide regulatory compliance counseling, legislative and regulatory advocacy, enforcement defense, permit negotiation and appeals, remediation, commercial transaction advice, and litigation representation worldwide. We obtain favorable and innovative outcomes for our clients by leveraging our work with regional, national, and international regulatory policy makers as well as our experience in complex civil and criminal enforcement cases. As described in
Chambers USA 2004/2005, the environmental practice's "strong national presence, international network and corporate expertise are all felt to give it a distinct advantage in this field."
With the experience gained from holding high-ranking positions in industry and government, and as litigation counsel, our lawyers and regulatory specialists have garnered comprehensive scientific and technological knowledge as well as diverse litigation experience. Through these roles, we have developed and maintained invaluable relationships so our clients get timely information and access for their environmental concerns. We also develop cost-effective compliance and expansion options through strategic regulatory planning for our diverse clients.
