Described as a “Top 30” global law firm by The Lawyer Global 100, Hogan & Hartson has a full complement of lawyers in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia who regularly advise multinational corporations and international investors on cross-border business transactions. Through our offices across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, our lawyers structure, negotiate, and implement complex cross-border acquisitions, tender offers, joint ventures, private equity investments, strategic investments, and commercial contracting relationships for our clients around the world. We also handle equity and debt financing and complex project and structured finance transactions across the globe and in virtually every industry.

Working with our tax, antitrust, IP, and regulatory partners around the world, Hogan & Hartson lawyers not only structure, negotiate, and document these transactions, but we see them through to completion. We work closely with our colleagues who have extensive experience in competition, international tax, employment, intellectual property, securities, cross-border investment controls (including Exon-Florio/CFIUS in the U.S. and corresponding requirements in France, Germany and elsewhere), export licensing, pharmaceutical and medical devices, procurement law―including U.S. Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) regulations―energy, immigration, and international arbitration to offer clients the broad resources of our firm to complete sophisticated cross-border transactions.

Hogan & Hartson has an established strategic alliance with Stonebridge International L.L.C., a global strategy firm founded by former firm partners Samuel R. Berger and Anthony Harrington. Stonebridge International assists companies in solving market access problems; providing risk assessment and analysis of business opportunities abroad; breaking government log-jams; developing and helping execute growth strategies; building new business relationships around the world; and increasing the international profile of companies and their management.

Hogan & Hartson lawyers regularly serve as lead counsel in these transactions, identifying and coordinating all relevant facets of the issue, as well as the legal issues that can arise in common law and civil law countries.
