Melissa N. Henke
Associate, Washington, D.C.

Melissa Henke’s practice focuses on civil litigation in federal and state courts. Melissa has represented clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters involving breach of contract, unfair trade practices, and business torts. She also has experience in class actions and complex disputes involving the health and general commercial fields.

Melissa currently serves as the senior associate in the firm’s Community Services Department, a practice group established more than 30 years ago and now widely recognized as one of the premier pro bono efforts in the country. In this role, Melissa litigates high-impact and individual pro bono matters on a wide variety of topics, including civil rights, wrongful convictions, and immigration. She also oversees important local, national, and international pro bono matters on the firm’s behalf.

Melissa has also served as an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Law School, teaching legal research and writing to first-year law students.

Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson in 2002, Melissa served as a law clerk to The Honorable Gary Allen Feess of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
