- Washington, D.C. partner Joseph Bell received the Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance Service Impact Award for his work on behalf of the International Senior Lawyers Project (May 2008).
- Hogan & Hartson received the Don Quixote Pro-Bono Attorney award at the Guardian ad Litem Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet for our our efforts in representing a guardian ad litem in what the program described as "the most contentious, adversarial and time consuming case in the history of the Guardian ad Litem Program" (April 2008).
- The Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia presented Hogan & Hartson partner Melissa Bianchi with the first Klepper Prize for Volunteer Excellence for her role in coordinating Medicare Part D clinics for low-income elderly individuals in Washington, D.C. (April 2008).
- Hogan & Hartson received a pro bono award by Rzeczpospolita, a leading Polish daily newspaper, in its annual Ranking Kancelarii Prawniczych 2008 (Law Firms Ranking 2008). The firm was recognized for its years of pro bono work for nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in Poland and for the firm’s dynamic development of its pro bono programs over the last two years (April 2008).
- Russian journal Corporate Lawyer, together with the Public Interest Law Institute (PILI), awarded Hogan & Hartson the first-ever-in-Russia Pro Bono Contribution Award (April 2008).
- For the third consecutive year, Hogan & Hartson was named a “40 at 50” firm by the U.S. Court of Appeal for the District of Columbia Circuit because more than 40 percent of our lawyers achieved at least 50 hours of pro bono work (April 2008).
- The firm ranked in the top 10 on The American Lawyer’s 2007 Pro Bono Report. The ranking was based on the firm’s 2006 pro bono achievements and was determined by per capita hours and the number of firm lawyers who devoted at least 20 hours of pro bono service in 2006 (July 2007).
- New York partner Steven Edwards was selected by the Federal Bar Council as the 2007 recipient of its Whitney North Seymour Award, which recognizes his contributions to public service as a private practitioner (June 2007).
- Baltimore partner Douglas Nazarian received a 2007 Maryland Pro Bono Service Award sponsored by the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland in recognition of his pro bono contributions to the state and local communities (June 2007).
- Calvary Women's Services presented Hogan & Hartson with its Volunteers of the Year Award in recognition of the firm’s extraordinary efforts in support of the organization and the women it serves (May 2007).
- Hogan & Hartson received the 2007 Chief Justice’s Law Firm Commendation Award from the Supreme Court of Florida, given in honor of the firm’s outstanding efforts in support of pro bono legal services (January 2007).
- Family and Child Services of Washington, D.C. awarded Hogan & Hartson with the John G. Theban Award for Meritorious Service. The firm has represented Family and Child Services for more than 25 years, on a wide range of issues (October 2006).
- Hogan & Hartson received the Outstanding Legal Services Award from the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (October 2006).
- Cristina Perez-Labiosa, an associate in the New York office, was honored by Sanctuary for Families for her pro bono work on behalf of victims of domestic violence (October 2006).
- Hogan & Hartson was recognized as a top 5 firm for pro bono in the Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms, 2007 edition (August 2006).
- Hogan & Hartson received the Civil Rights Champion Award from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). The award recognized the firm's pro bono service and commitment to advancing civil rights and social justice on behalf of the NAACP (July 2006).
- The firm ranked fourth on The American Lawyer’s 2006 Pro Bono Report. The ranking was based on the firm’s 2005 pro bono achievements and was determined by per capita hours and the number of firm lawyers who devoted at least 20 hours of pro bono service in 2005 (July 2006).
- The District of Columbia Bar awarded Hogan & Hartson the 2006 Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year Award (large firm category) for the firm's pro bono work in 2005 (June 2006).
- The Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs presented the firm with its Outstanding Achievement Award in Public Accommodations for successful litigation to require restaurants in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to remain open for the predominantly African-American visitors who attend Black Bike Week over Memorial Day weekend each year and for Outstanding Achievement in Disability Rights for our landmark settlements in the RadioShack and Savage cases, which dealt with access by the disabled to inter-active store displays and consideration of the disabled in emergency evacuation plans (June 2006).
- America's Charities presented the firm with an award for almost 20 years of "expert assistance and guidance on a wide array of issues and matters." The event celebrated the 25th anniversary of America's Charities (May 2006).
- The firm received the "Going the Extra Mile" Award from Whitman-Walker Clinic's legal services program for outstanding legal work on behalf of people living with HIV/AIDS (March 2006).
- Hogan & Hartson partner Elizabeth Meers was the recipient of the 2005 Pro Bono Legal Service Award from The John Carroll Society, an association of Catholic laypersons serving the Archdiocese of Washington, for "outstanding contributions" to the Archdiocesan Legal Network (October 2005).
- The D.C. Appleseed Center for Law and Justice recognized Hogan & Hartson for its commitment to the greater Washington, D.C. community and for its corporate leadership nationally (September 2005).
- The American Red Cross awarded Hogan & Hartson the Circle of Humanitarians Award, the highest philanthropic honor presented annually by the organization (August 2005).
- The firm received a Hall of Fame award from SARC, the Sexual Assault/Spouse Abuse Resource Center, for its pro bono work. SARC is located in Harford County, Maryland (September 2005).
- Hogan & Hartson was honored with the 2005 Distinguished Pro Bono Achievement Award, presented by the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council (July 2005).
- The Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs presented the firm with its Outstanding Achievement Award in Public Accommodations for its persistent work in a variety of forums combating taxicab discrimination in the District of Columbia (June 2004) and for Outstanding Achievement in Fair Housing for its work in combating "source of income" discrimination (June 2005).
