Tarah Grant’s practice focuses on commercial transactions, with a particular emphasis on deals involving the Internet, media, entertainment, and technology. Her experience includes advising radio and television stations on regulatory issues and drafting content licenses and other contracts related to the development, protection, and commercialization of intellectual property assets. Tarah regularly works on technology licensing arrangements; e-commerce projects, including Web site development agreements, co-branding agreements, and user agreements; Web site audits; intellectual property due diligence; professional services agreements; and confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements. She also assists with joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, she has handled a wide array of in-house legal issues while on secondment to the headquarters of a nationally-renowned online newspaper.
Tarah majored in journalism and mass communications in college. She served as editor-in-chief of her university's newspaper and, while in law school, she served as editor-in-chief of the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology. Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson, Tarah completed internships at several media organizations and companies.
Tarah is the former co-chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) and currently serves at the Young Lawyers representative on the Executive Committee of the FCBA. Tarah is also a graduate of Leadership Fairfax's Emerging Leaders Institute.
